Now that Summer has officially hit the USA, it’s time to enjoy the great outdoors, and part of that is music and festivals under the sun and stars.

For those in New York and Los Angeles, outdoor music has a distinctly Aussie flavour this summer – with two music festivals enjoying strictly Australian lineups.

Australia Rocks the Pier – LA – August 2

In Los Angeles on August 2 2012, Australia Rocks the Pier will take over Santa Monica Pier with a Twilight Series lineup featuring Kasey Chambers, Matt Ellis, competition winner D Henry Fenton and MC Jamie Durie. The event begins at 7pm and we recommend that you get there early – past years have enjoyed a huge turnout of Aussies and Angelinos alike.

Additionally, the evening will host a competition to win a 5-night vacation to Sydney including two roundtrip tickets from Los Angeles to Sydney courtesy of Qantas Airways, along with five nights hotel accommodation, a cruise on Sydney Harbour and a tour of the famed Sydney Opera House courtesy of Destination NSW.
