Dead Can Dance return to the USA for the first time since 2005, with their first release in 16 years.

80′s duo Dead Can Dance, who formed in Melbourne in 1981, have just announced that they will release their first new album in 16 years. They will also be touring the USA in support of the new release. Their music is often described as ambient, ethereal and neoclassical, mixing world music with almost operatic vocals and soft instrumental backing.

The band, consisting of Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry, have not released any new material since their 1996 album, Spiritchaser, though their last tour took place in 2005. They will be touring in August – September of this year, beginning on the West Coast and ultimately finishing their tour at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas.

The title of the new album will be Anastasis.
