The Aussie BBQ
is coming back to New York City for its annual CMJ edition this coming Saturday, October 20. The 13-hour event features 24 acts on two stages and, of course, actual Australian cuisine. This year, there are a few bands that we haven’t been able to see live yet such as Emma Louise, Dune Rats, Skipping Girl Vinegar and The Oyster Murders. This is the first Aussie BBQ in the United States since it hit The Bell House in Brooklyn in March after SXSW. Listen and watch some of the performers below and check out the schedule for the day!

Dune Rats is one of the acts we can’t wait to see. We’ll describe them laid back surf punk. Listen to their song “Fuck It”.

Electronic music lovers and connoisseurs RÜFÜS will bring their Depeche Mode influenced tunes to the Delancey on Saturday. Groove to “Talk To Me” below.

Melbourne indie rock band Skipping Girl Vinegar will play songs from their two albums, 2008′s Sift The Noise and 2011′s Keep Calm Carry The Monkey. Here’s an adorable clip for the song “Chase The Sun”.

Brisbane alt-rock band The Oyster Murders will put the crowd into a trance with their sonic guitars and melodic vocals. Check out the haunting “Ghosts In Our Wake”.

Sydney’s Jinja Safari play “African-inspired dream pop”. We’re very interested to hear their twist on music live. Here’s a video for their track “Hiccups”.

These are only a handful of the highlights of Saturday’s show. Come early, stay late and see some new groundbreaking Aussie talent at this year’s CMJ Festival! The full schedule is below, courtesy of Sounds Australia.
