Pie Face owners Wayne Homschek and Betty Fong at the first NYC location of Pie Face, which opened in January 2012.

Further evidence that the great Aussie meat pie takeover continues: Australian chain Pie Face today opens its second New York location – on the East side in Murray Hill.

The store follows their pattern of opening locations close to some of Manhattan’s landmarks – the first, on 53rd and Broadway, takes up space next to the famous Ed Sullivan theatre (home of The Late Show with David Letterman), a mere few blocks from Times Square. And the Murray Hill location is no different: its home on busy 34th street and 3rd avenue is but a couple of blocks from the Empire State Building.

This store will also follow their lead of keeping the location open 24 hours. According to the chain:

“Not only will this store provide many hungry bellies with a fresh new food outlet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this store’s menu will be a perfect outlet for those 4am munchies”

Along with a complete range of both sweet and savoury pies, the store also boasts an Aussie style coffee menu, complete with flat whites, tall blacks, short blacks, cappucinos and lattes.

If you’re in the area, swing pie for a free mini pie from 12pm-2pm and again from 6pm-8pm.
